For the character also known as The Reverse Puppet see Vinnie

The Puppet, also commonly known as The Marionette , is an animatronic and the main antagonist of Five Nights at Freddy's 2. He stays in the Prize Corner, and Jeremy Fitzgerald and Fritz Smith must wind up a music box or else he will attack the player.

Appearance

The Puppet is a tall puppet-looking figure. He is all black and white except for his face where he has red cheeks and lips, and two purple strips going from his eyes to his mouth. He has three strips going on his arms and legs.

Function

He functions for the main reason to check the camera, to wind up the music box. Neglecting the music box will cause him to enter the next attack stage. After his final stage, he'll leave his box and head for the player, this will eventually be a game over unless the player can hold out until 6 AM.

When the Marionette has left its box, a light blue-eyed canine Endo 02 can be rarely seen in front of the Puppet Box, with hallucinations of the Marionette appearing in the camera surveilling the hallway that's connected to the hallway in front of the office, Parts & Services, the main showstage, the bathrooms, and presumably the kitchen area.

History

Five Nights at Freddy's 2

The Marionette will stay at the Prize Corner, where the player, viewing through the eyes of two night guards, Jeremy and Fritz, must remotely wind up a music box in to keep the Marionette calm. If the player does not wind up the music box, The Marionette will slowly rise out of his box and come straight for the player, resulting in a game over.

The Take Cake to the Children minigame partially reveals his origins, as it shows a child being murdered outside of the establishment by William Afton, followed by the Marionette's jumpscare implying that child then possessed him.

The Give Gifts Give Life minigame depicts the Marionette giving the MCI victims gifts and new life through the animatronic heads.

As well as this, the FNaF 2 cutscenes reveal the Marionette still had a presence even in the original restaurant that was first shown in FNaF 1. In the fourth of these cutscenes, it follows the player's head movements from inside Freddy until the scene ends.

Five Nights at Freddy's 3

In the third installment, the Marionette can be seen on the cameras, on CAM 08, casting a reflection. Viewing him for too long will cause the Phantom Puppet to show up, acting just like the real Marionette did in FNaF 2, following the player's gaze.

The original puppet child is seen in the Happiest Day Minigame. The Child is wearing the Puppet's mask. When all the spirits are present, she gives cake to the Golden Freddy spirit, and the spirits disappear, with ballons rising symbolically showing the spirits passing upwards into the afterlife. However, the Puppets mask falls slower than the others.

Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator

The original Puppet is depicted in Security Puppet, which is set at the same time as Take Cake. In the mini-game, he is required to find a child with a green security bracelet, symbolised by their current eye colour, and to follow them, but there will be no assigned child except if the game is played three times.

After playing said number, the minigame takes quite a dark turn, the assigned child is outside the establishment while the Puppet is trapped because of a gift box being placed on top of his box.

After Charlotte leaves the Puppet's range, he follows her outside but is damaged by the rain. The Puppet encounters the assigned child's dead body and the now broken and discolored Puppet crawls to it. Once the Puppet crawled up to the dead child's body, he deactivates, hugging Charlotte's corpse, thus allowing her to possess him.

Ultimate Custom Night

"If you neglect it's music box then it will break free of it's prison. Once out, it can't be put back inside, and your ventilation system will drain much faster than it did before, causing blackouts and eventually a game over."

— Character description.

It should be noted the Puppet is vulnerable to the Death Coin.

Help Wanted

The Marionette acts as it does in the FNaF 2 minigame, however it walks towards the player before jumpscaring them. It's also easier to keep the music box wound remotely, as you can preform other office tasks simultaneously, instead of being locked to the camera while winding the box up.

Miscellaneous

Trivia

  • Within the files for the second game, The Marionette's AI is listed as sockpuppet.
  • While it was confirmed that Marionette's attatched spirit is female, both The Freddy Files and Ultimate Custom Night confirm that The Puppet himself is a male.
  • It was unclear whether the original Marionette was present in Fazbear's Fright. It was eventually confirmed that he was present post FNaF 3.
  • It has been widely theorized that Charlotte's spirit is the one speaking in the second last FNaF 4 FNaF 4 minigames.
  • Just like in the cutscene shown in the gallery of this section, The Marionette is not fooled by the mask. This also applies to Withered Foxy.

The Phantom Puppet is the final antagonist to appear in the game Five Nights at Freddy's 3 and is one of the five phantom animatronics in the game. It is a hallucination of a burned Marionette with Nightmare teeth.

Appearance

The Phantom Puppet appears much like its Five Nights at Freddy's 2 incarnation, though its body is charred, has Nightmare teeth hidden by the shadows covering its face, and its eyes have small silver striped irises, much like the other phantoms and Nightmarionne. Its charred and burnt appearance possibly foreshadows the torching of the attraction.

While 'attacking' the player, the Phantom Puppet will appear in front of the player and follow their camera movements, its eyes noticeably twitching side to side if you remain still. A noise will play and the player will have to wait for the Phantom Puppet to leave.

Gameplay

As almost every Phantom, The Phantom Puppet lacks a movement pattern. At random intervals, the real Marionette will appear standing in the CAM 8 hallway and you will have to put the monitor down before the Phantom Puppet appears in your office. The Phantom Puppet is used to obscure the player's vision long enough for Springtrap to get very close to you and then to leave causing an Audio error (when entering) and a Ventilation error (leaving). In addition, many people believe that the Phantom Puppet is the most dangerous Phantom as it obscures your vision for about 15 seconds or so and causes two errors.

Trivia

  • The Phantom Puppet, just like the the rest of the Phantoms, looks old and charred.
  • The Phantom Puppet is known as the most dangerous phantom animatronic.
  • The Phantom Puppets attack is about approximately 15 seconds.
  • Upon closer inspection, the Phantom Puppet still has its red cheeks.
  • The Phantom Puppet likes to play a sound similarly like Mangle.
  • This is the only version of a Puppet to not appear in Ultimate Custom Night, and the only Phantom to not appear in any other game besides FNaF World.

Nightmarionne (commonly referred to as Nightmarionnette or Nightmare Puppet by the fan base) is a secret nightmare animatronic and an antagonist of Five Nights at Freddy's 4. He is among the new nightmare animatronics introduced in the Halloween Edition, alongside Nightmare Balloon Boy and Nightmare Mangle and serves as the main antagonist of the Halloween Edition. He is the nightmarish incarnation of The Puppet. Nightmarionne is responsible for replacing Golden Freddy in the Halloween Edition, and thus shares the same behavior.

He is also one of the Nightmare animatronics in the Halloween update to not canonically appear as an antagonist in FNaF 4, along with Nightmare Mangle. After this he again features within the canon games "Sister Location", Ultimate Custom Night, and FNaF VR: Help Wanted.

Appearance

Out of all the Nightmare animatronics in FNaF 4 and UCN, Nightmarionne "seems" to be the "skinniest". He generally appears to bear many resemblances to the original Marionette from the second game.

His body "seemingly" greatly resembles to that of a tall human skeleton, being tall and extremely thin. Unlike The Marionette, Nightmarionne doesn't have three buttons on his chest.

The most significant changes are him sporting a large smile full of small, sharp-looking teeth with its upper lip having more teeth than the lower jaw, as well as also being much darker in color to the point of being colorless and sporting longer, even lankier limbs and torso, the latter sporting three sets of protruding ribs.

His head structure is very similar to the original Marionette with the exception of lacking rosy red cheeks.

His lipstick and tear-like stripes are black in color as well.

His three fingers also seem to be longer, thinner, and tentacle-like each with four white stripes, while the arms are little bit short and lacking stripes.

His fingers are divided further down the arm, making them longer and more similar to branching arms.

His legs are very long with a needle-like point at the end each, and unlike the Marionette, they are lacking the white stripes.

His silver pupil-like eyes are very similar to the phantom animatronics' eyes from the third game, especially when brightened.

Behavior

Nightmarionne behaves exactly like Nightmare Fredbear, meaning that he can attack from the bed, closet, left hall, and right hall. Being a replacement of Nightmare Fredbear on Nights 7 and 8, Nightmarionne only appears on Nightmare/Shadow Freddy mode, and 20/20/20/20 from 4 AM on. He can appear in any night with the All Nightmare challenge turned on.

When Nightmarionne is active, the music of the Music Box from Five Nights at Freddy's 2 will play as well as Nightmare Fredbear's laugh. While sharing the same strategy of Nightmare Fredbear, the player must pay close attention to the music box sound Nightmarionne makes to tell which direction he's going when defending themselves.

Similar to Golden Freddy from the first game while jumpscaring the player, Nightmarionne's close-up screen will appear with light-bluish colors and lack of teeth. In addition to its jumpscare, he shares the same strange ambulance-like noise as Night 7 and 8 Nightmare Fredbear.

Ultimate Custom Night

His presence moves randomly to different locations in your office as you play, and begins to reappear when your mouse cursor moves over him. Be quick to avoid the area of the office that he occupies, or your run will end with a jumpscare!

Help Wanted

Nightmarionne features as a character within the VR game Freddy Fazbear Virtual Experience, featuring in the second Night Terrors level. He uses voicelines from UCN.

Trivia

  • Nightmarionne bears a strong resemblance to Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
  • Nightmarionne is also one of the two animatronics in the series to have 1 visible set of teeth, the other being BB, and the only Nightmare animatronic to do so.
    • Although Nightmare Chica's cupcake also has this feature, it is technically not its own separate animatronic.
  • Nightmarionne, RWQFSFASXC, and White Rabbit are the only antagonists in the entire series that are completely colorless.
    • Nightmarionne is also the only counterpart of the Puppet that lacks rosy cheeks.
  • Nightmarionne is the Marionette's only known counterpart to lack buttons.
  • Like Plushtrap, Nightmarionne is a Nightmare animatronic without any visible five fingers.
    • Nightmarionne only has three visible fingers unlike Plushtrap who has four.
  • Nightmarionne's discovery in his teaser is strikingly similar to how The Marionette was revealed for Five Nights at Freddy's 2; both are covered in near-complete darkness and can only be shown by brightening their respective images.
    • Nightmarionne's teaser image was also titled "dontwakethebaby.jpg". This may be a reference to the YouTuber Markiplier, who helped popularize the series.
  • Nightmarionne's head tilts towards his right (the player's left) at all times.
  • Brightening Nightmarionne reveals that in addition to his glowing silver irises, he also has spherical shaped eyes hidden behind his mask.
    • This can be noted even without brightening, but requires good vision to see as it is very dark.
  • Nightmarionne is one of the two Nightmare animatronics that are perfectly undamaged, the other being Nightmare Balloon Boy.
  • Nightmarionne is the only Nightmare animatronic to "seemingly" have thinner, and longer, arms and legs than his original counterpart.
  • Strangely, Nightmarionne shares the same sounds as Nightmare Fredbear, from the laughs, footsteps, and even the static-like ambulance jumpscare sound.
  • Nightmarionne, Nightmare Mangle and Nightmare Balloon Boy are the only animatronic counterparts that are not reskins of their original forms.
  • Nightmarionne is one of the two nightmare animatronics that don't have any endoskeleton showing, the other being Nightmare Balloon Boy.
  • Nightmarionne is the third animatronic with a killscreen, the second being Night 7 and 8Nightmare Fredbear, and the first being Golden Freddy.
  • Nightmarionne is referenced throughout Security Breach.
    • Most obviously, the Nightmarionne S.T.A.F.F Bots are known as such due to their resemblance to him, as well as the IN YOUR DREAMS message on their chests, alongside Nightmarionne plushies found throughout Security Breach and its DLC.
    • Nightmarionne, referred to as Nightmare, is a collectable plushie. Unlike other plushies, "Nightmare" plushies are also hidden throughout the Pizza Plex watching the player.

Errors

  • If looked at closely, Nightmarionne's left arm is clipping through the wall of the left hall.
    • This also goes to Nightmarionne's right arm clipping though the wall of the Right Hall.

Lure. Encapsulate. Fuse. Transport. Extract. (Also known as Lefty) is the fourth salvageable animatronic from Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator. It is one of the main antagonists.

Gameplay

Lefty is one of the salvageable animatronics in the game and appears on Thursday. If you decide to salvage him, Michael Afton must go through a series of events such as shocking him and documenting responses of the animatronic. If the player fails this you will receive a jumpscare. The man on the tape recorder will play sounds that will make Lefty more aggressive and make him come closer. The player will need to shock him to neutralize him. After the fifth audio prompt, the salvage ends and you get $5000 for the salvage. However, he can also be purchased from the Rare Finds Auction catalog for $5, with a high risk of 9.

Story

Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator

As revealed in the Insanity Ending LEFTE blueprint, this Animatronic was designed to contain The Puppet and bring it to the Pizzeria as part of Henry's plan. At some point after Five Nights at Freddy's 3, he captured it with a False Sensory Output, which used the same green colour code that the Puppet was originally programmed to respond to.

The contained Puppet was brought to the Back Alley on Thursday. There, it was salvaged by the manager, Michael Afton, who gained $5000 from it. The Puppet within it still wanted to protect any children from the other animatronics, and misguidedly attacked Michael from Friday onwards. Michael managed to distract Lefty by using the resources in his Office. Eventually, on Saturday, it was burnt with the rest, with her father apologizing that no one was there to save his daughter and telling her to rest.

Ultimate Custom Night

Lefty will be deactivated in the Closet however gets angrier the hotter or noisier the office is, his anger is shown by 5 stages, if he disappears from the closet then you are doomed unless you reach 6 AM before Lefty has a chance to attack, he can be soothed back to stage 1 if you put on the Global Music Box.

— Character description.

It should be noted Lefty is vulnerable to the Death Coin.
