The Clock is a game mechanic throughout the Five Nights at Freddy's series. Located at the upper right-hand corner of the screen, where it remains constantly, it tells the player what time it is within the game. The clock only shows the current hour with no sign of minutes or seconds.
The objective is to survive from 12 AM to 6 AM in order to complete the night.
In Five Nights at Freddy's, an hour is 86 seconds long, which would make each night 8 minutes and 36 seconds long. Once 6 AM is reached, the screen fades to an animation of 5 AM rolling over to 6 AM accompanied by a bell-chime jingle and the sound of cheering kids.
In Five Nights at Freddy's 2, an hour is shortened to 68 seconds in length, so a night would be 6 minutes and 48 seconds long.
In Five Nights at Freddy's 3, an hour is shortened even further to be 58 seconds long, making a night 5 minutes and 48 seconds long.
In the Mobile versions, the nights are much shorter, but to counter this, in every game, the animatronics are more aggressive, and in the first game, the player loses power faster, the second game, flashlight battery drains faster, and there is possibly no change to the 3rd game.
- In a rare chance if you are getting jumpscared and the clock rolls over to 5 a.m it will cut the jumpscare off and you will win the night.
- In another chance depending on your luck and what time it its when Freddy is preparing to kill you as the power runs out if you can hold out long enough, the clock will roll over to 6 A.m before Freddy Jumpscares you.
