Five Nights At Freddy's Wiki

Bon Bon (or also called as Bonnie Hand Puppet by HandUnit) is a minor character and the Handpuppet of Funtime Freddy in Sister Location.

Story[]

Bon Bon was created by Afton Robotics to be a part of Funtime Freddy, but was also intended to aid in killing children for William Afton. Indeed, Bon Bon was fitted with a 360 degree pivot what allows it to track where parents are to allow Freddy to lure the child away.

Sister Location[]

On his second night, in the Breaker Room, Michael Afton activates mascot response audio to deter Funtime Freddy. This is Bon-Bon's voice talking to Freddy, telling him to "calm down", and assuring him that he is worrying about nothing. This causes Funtime Freddy to be less aggressive towards Michael, and move back towards his stage. On Night 3, while Michael was performing maintenance on Freddy, he needed to remove the secondary power module from Bon Bon, but it detached itself and attempted to kill him. Michael managed to catch and deactivate him by pressing the button under his bowtie. Afterwards,Bon Bon were taken to the Scooping Room, and had their endoskeleton parts become part of Ennard. Bon-Bon's inanimate shell is last seen on Night 5 in the Scooping Room.

Help Wanted[]

While the original Bon Bon is long gone by this time, he appears as a game character alongside Funtime Freddy within the Freddy Fazbear Virtual Experience. They act as antagonists of the first Night Terrors level.

Special Delivery[]

A recreation of Bon Bon features along with Funtime Freddy as part of the Fazbear Funtime Service, but due to corruption by a virus, they become hostile to players. Bon Bon only attacks the player if Funtime Freddy has been shocked, and can be stopped by being shocked as well. However, if he is not shocked upon charging, he will reactivate Funtime Freddy, restarting the encounter. If Funtime Freddy has already been defeated, Bon Bon enters an enraged state, where it only takes a single hit to kill the player.

Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location[]

In Night 2 in the Breaker Room, Michael Afton activates mascot response audio. This is Bon-Bon's voice talking to Funtime Freddy, telling him to "calm down", and assuring him that he is worrying about nothing. This causes Funtime Freddy to be less aggressive towards Michael, and move back towards his stage.

In Night 3 there is a point in which Michael will need to press a button under Bon-Bon's bowtie. However, the puppet will detach itself and sneak around Freddy's body. If the player does not press the button in time, Bon-Bon will jumpscare and kill the player.

Custom Night[]

In the non canon Custom Night, Bon-Bon features as an antagonist. Bon Bon is thrown by Freddy into the Private Room from either the West or East Closet, thus the player has to activate the door on the correct side. When Bon Bon is told to "go get him", it is thrown from the side Freddy's on. If you hear Freddy say "Get ready for a surprise!", shut the door on the opposite side he's on. If you shut the correct door in time, then you'll hear a soft 'thud' and it will be safe to open the door. If you fail to shut the door or shut the wrong door, then Bon-Bon will jumpscare you.

Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted[]

Bon Bon appears alongside Funtime Freddy within the Freddy Fazbear Virtual Experience. He appears in the first Night Terrors level, approaching from the left hallway while Freddy approaches from the right. Bon Bon is warded off by the player's flashlight. Bon Bon can jumpscare the player, but this is merely a distraction for Freddy to fatally jumpscare them. A withered version of Bon Bon can make a cameo in the Vent Repair Ennard level, while heading down from the Breaker Room to the Secondary Service Elevator Ventilation Shaft.

Five Nights at Freddy's AR: Special Delivery[]

Bon Bon cannot be summoned directly, and his CPU and Plushsuit cannot be obtained. However, shocking Funtime Freddy will cause an encounter against him to begin, and as such he can still be encountered.

Bon Bon acts similar to Funtime Freddy, featuring the usual charge mechanics. He's extremely small, and as such looking down is a requirement. Shocking Bon Bon will end the encounter, however, if Bon Bon were to attack and fail to break the player's shield, he will start another round against Funtime Freddy; This only occurs if Funtime Freddy has any health left. If Funtime Freddy has already been defeated, Bon Bon enters an enraged state, where it only takes a single hit to kill the player.

Bon Bon is also capable of disappearing off the map temporarily, before disappearing elsewhere.

Unlike other animatronics, Bon Bon will use the May 2021 gameplay regardless of whether Funtime Freddy was sent from a friend or called by a lure.

Personality[]

In stark contrast to Funtime Freddy, Bon Bon is very formal, mellow, and levelheaded, speaking in a calm tone of voice. However, when Funtime Freddy was being repaired, it acted extremely shy, violent, homicidal, mischevious, and murderous.

Trivia[]

  • Bon Bon is said to be a mother-like figure to Funtime Freddy. However, because of his gender, he is most likely more of a father figure.
  • The reason Bon Bon helps Michael in night 2 but attempts to kill him in night 3 is because Bon Bon wanted to calm down Funtime Freddy in night 2 while in night 3 he is scared of being deactivated so he attempts to stop Michael by killing him.
    • This could imply that Bon Bon has Thanatophobia, fear of death.
  • Bon Bon makes a cameo in Ultimate Custom Night, in the Sister Location themed Office, where he is sitting on the desk.
  • In his animations in Special Delivery, Bonbon seems to be capable of stretching and squishing in a way that shouldn't be realistically possible.
  • Bonbon is the only character in Special Delivery who drops the Suit and CPU of a different animatronic.
  • The Five Nights at Freddy's Character Encyclopedia claims that Bon Bon appears in Five Nights at Freddy's 3, which appears to be an error. It is plausible that this is referring to a sprite in one of the minigames, but the encyclopedia does not elaborate on the claim.
